Eric Freeman reports from Kageyo
January 19, 2010


Eric Freeman, president of the Freeman Motor Company, is currently in Kageyo, Rwanda in efforts to aid the struggling residents there. His first email sent from Africa was filled with hope and vivid depiction of the plight currently faced by so many. Eric wrote home, “I am having a great time. I cannot believe how happy a child can be when they have nothing.”
He included details of a child currently sponsored by Jason Copeland, a Freeman Motor Co. employee, “We drove into the jungle. The road even ended before getting to her hut. I am talking remote! We brought enough food to feed them for about a month. She and the family are very thankful. She will now be able to attend school, get two school uniforms, a pair of shoes, (they have none) and medical insurance.”

Successful Grand Opening Celebration

Freeman Motors celebrated the opening of its new all indoor showroom by throwing a party and inviting all customers, business associates, and other local dealers to a catered event.

With valet parking, a red carpet, Mortons The Steak House, Nuestra Cocina, Trin Chero wines, Freeman Motors opened in style.

The evenings events also included live jazz performed by Stan Bock Ensemble, fourth annual detailer of the year competition (Congratulations to 1st place winner Mark Monroe who received $500 and a 3 month contract with Freeman Motors), a car and boat raffle, a childrens area including bounce house, face painting, movie area, and coloring contest.

Freeman Motors would like to thank all guests who made it to the event. If you have not yet seen our new showroom, please stop by and say hi.

Freeman Participates at Manheim Golf Tournament

Monday June 16th. 2008, Three Freeman Motor Co. employees Macadam Store Manager, Marshall Zoerner, Hood Store Manager, Brandon Walker, and Assistant Regional Manager, Adam Boderman participated in the Manheim Auto Auction's annual golf tournament. The Freeman team just missed out on the prize for last place by 1 stroke. When asked how they felt they played Boderman said "I'm a bit dissapointed that we could not bring home any hardware, but I take great joy in what this tournament does for the local kids of Portland. Their the real winners today!"

*He was informed later that this was not a charity event.

Freeman Motor Company is remodeling a NEW STORE on Macadam Avenue. This is a FULL INDOOR SHOW ROOM that will hold over 100 cars! Soon you can leisurly browse our large selection of fine European cars without having to battle the elements that Oregon weather has to offer. Having cars out of bad weather is just another way we can improve our customer satisfaction. This project will be completed by Summer 2008.

Freeman Motors Third Annual Detailer of the Year Competition Results

Congratulation to our winner Greg Johnson Auto Detail!

Freeman Motors Third Annual Detailer of the Year competition was held Saturday. 5 local detail companies entered the competition in which they had 7 and a half hours to complete the best auto detail. There was free barbeque and T- Shirts for those who visited to see the results.

In third place was Mark Monroe Auto Reconditioning.

Car City received the second place prize.

Finally, Greg Johnson Auto Detailing earned top honors and the $500 dollar grand prize for the third year in a row. Owner Greg Johnson plans to retire from the competition undefeated and become a judge in future years.

FMC president and founder Eric Freeman finished the final course to become one of only 3 current Certified Master Dealers in the entire state of Oregon. This very presitigous title represents a nationally recognized standard for quality. It is a combination of skill, experience, and commitment to standards that have helped Freeman achieve this goal. During his final course to earn certification FMC was recognized for all the ways the company differs form typical dealer practices, while still succeeding in a very competitive marketplace. FMC manager Marshall Zoerner also went through the certification class in order to better understand the business and help lead in daily operations.

Recently Freeman Motors was honored as Oregon’s Quality Independent Dealer of the year. FMC takes tremendous pride in being recognized among hundreds of dealers throughout the entire state of Oregon. This award came soon after receiving recognition for being the Portland/Metro quality dealer of the year. A national competition will follow. OIADA is an independent dealer's association in Oregon and is part of the national association.
