IRS Section 179 Guidelines and Qualifications for Passenger Vehicles
Basically, Section 179 is a portion of the IRS Tax Code that allows businesses to deduct the value of their purchase price on a wide range of products that they sell. In the case of motor vehicles, this means that any model with a weight rating between 6,000 and 14,000 pounds is eligible for a deduction of up to $25,000 off its final price, provided that said vehicle is in service prior to the end of the year on December 31.
