What is the Best Way to Clean Leather Seats?

The best way to show that a car has a luxurious and upscale style is with leather seats. There’s just something about leather that exudes a regal and important feeling. Unless you’re actually royalty, it’s as close to a throne as most people will get.

As regal as they feel, leather seats aren’t perfect. Over time they can crack and lose their color because of UV exposure and heat damage. If you want to keep your leather seats looking their best, then you’re going to have to take care of them a bit. When you’re washing your car, it’s not a bad idea to take some time to take care of your seats.

How To Clean Leather Seats

The first step of any good deep clean is vacuuming. You want to clean up any loose dirt and debris rather than grind it into the seats, thus making the problem worse. Next, you will want to use a leather cleaner to wash the seats. You should use a soft bristled brush to gently clean your seats. Once you’re satisfied with your work, wipe everything dry and let it sit for a few hours to dry out.

If you want to make sure the clean look stays around for longer, then you’re going to want to condition your seats as well. A nice, even coat of conditioner will help protect your seats from the heat and UV rays. After you apply the conditioner, give it a few hours to absorb into the seats before drying them off with a microfiber towel.
