Audi quattro® All-Wheel Drive Technology

The quattro® AWD was first seen in 1980 on an Audi Quattro rally car; since then, quattro® AWD has been synonymous with Audi performance. The quattro® AWD system offers drivers incredible handling in wet and inclement weather, and offers increased performance on dry roads, as well!

The system constantly monitors the conditions and is able to immediately respond and send power to the wheel that will provide the most instant traction. The quattro® AWD is optimized for each model on which it is equipped, offering a more-tailored approach that fits each vehicle’s intended performance requirements.

Available torque vectoring works by applying the brakes to the inside wheels when turning and sending torque instead to the outside wheels, resulting in improved traction and handling. With the available sport differential, not only can you send torque to the outside wheels, but you can accelerate the wheels even faster, delivering increased performance!
