The company of Mercedes-Benz was founded back 1926 and ever since then, the company has been making history with its vehicles. Today we will be focusing on the history of the Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe.

The foundation of the Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe

The E-Class name hit the market segment in 1993 but the model series came from succession of “Stroke/8” models. The Stroke/8 models were built from 1968 until 1976. From there the 123 models and 124 models came after until the segments were named the E-Class.

The Stroke/8 models

The launch of the two-door model thrilled customers and confidently led the field. At the time, this was the only two-door model that offered a six-cylinder engine. Many experts were impressed by the sporty design and high-quality interior features.

123 series

The next generation made its debut at the Geneva Motor Show in 1977. These models were more independent from their predecessors and were referred to as having “unmistakable character.” This model had up to 177 horsepower. The body shape had a sporty elegance with flowing lines integrated in.

124 series

Presented at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1987, the 124 model series had four-seater options and stood out as an independent, sport yet elegant vehicle. The body was shorted and was more compact from previous versions. The top of the range models has the 3.0-liter four valve engine which saw up to 220 horsepower.
